India to achieve 6 per cent economic growth: ADB

The Asian Development Bank in its report on Tuesday said India will achieve 6 per cent growth this year.

The Asian Development Outlook 2009 Update, released in Hong Kong said an increase in public spending, stronger industrial production, a quicker than expected return of capital inflows and signs of improved business confidence would enhance economic growth to 6 per cent in India this year.

It said the agricultural output for 2009 was expected to remain stunted and exports weak.

It said that the Government`s strong fiscal stimulus has successfully brought last year’s economic slowdown to an end.
