Centre responsible for price hike: VS

New delhi: Blaming the Centre for the rise in prices of the essential items, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achutanandan said on Saturday that the state had not failed to control prices.

Achuthanandan is in the national capital for attending a meeting called by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the issue of price rise.

The states should not be blamed or the price hike, he said.

The Centre was trying to put the responsibility for the price rise on state’s shoulders, Achuthanandan said.
