CPI asks Govt to go ahead with Munnar drive

Thiruvananthapuram: Lashing out at the opposition raised by some local CPI(M) leaders against the encroachment drive in Munnar, the CPI, which is part of the CPI(M) led Left government in the state, today opined that the government must go ahead with the drive.

CPI state secretary Veliyam Bhargavan said that the government should go forward in the backdrop of High Court verdict on Munnar.

He also said that the Revenue Minister, who belonged to his party, would lead the fresh anti-encroachment drive. Bhargavan also noted that isolated oppositions need not be considered and only public sentiments need to be taken into account.
