Govts not for extremist activities under guise of HR
Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Wednesday told the state Assembly that government will not allow extremist activities by anyone under the guise of human rights.
Replying to a submission by Mr P Viswan (CPI-M) on the necessity to inquire into anti-developmental and subversive activities and of the financial sources of the so-called Human Rights organisations functioning in the state, he said police and other intelligence agencies would look into such complaints.
He also noted that stringent action would be taken against those involved in extremist activities. The government would not allow anyone to store weapons in places of worship, he added.
He said the Reserve Bank of India and Enforcement Directorate had mechanisms to monitor flow of funds to various organizations functioning in the state.
